Who We Are looking For:

We are seeking a full-time Human Resource Specialist with payroll processing experience to join our vibrant team of professionals located in Newport, RI. The optimal candidate will be enthusiastic, self-motivated, analytical, resourceful, flexible, possess emotional intelligence and common sense, have a keen attention to detail, have the ability to multi-task and prioritize, be an outstanding oral and written communicator, be computer literate and a critical thinker.

Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Manage all HR activities for an organization averaging 90-110 full-time and seasonal employees that operates in 5 different states to include recruitment, preparation of offer letters and processing of applicant background checks, onboarding and offboarding of employees, benefit management, employee paid time off management, employee handbook policy modification/creation and enforcement, employee mediation and counseling, compliance with all labor laws, prepare for and represent the company with annual compliance audits, manage workers compensation claims, process state unemployment claim reports and state agency orders of support, handle all FMLA and leaves of absences, etc.

· Process weekly payroll: review weekly timecards for accuracy at both the company and ADP levels, prepare batches, preview reports for errors in time, overtime, paid time off and payroll deductions, investigate and resolve all discrepancies before approving and submitting the final weekly payrolls, and prepare weekly payroll general ledger reports for the Controller.

· Assist the Controller with various accounting functions.

Requirements in addition to those stated above:

· Bachelor's Degree

· ADP Workforce Now experience a plus

· Yardi property management software experience a plus

· A minimum of 2 years human resource and employee benefits administration experience

· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively and collaborate with all levels of employees and management

· Ability to recognize, respect, and maintain confidential company and employee information

· Adherence to deadlines

· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Microsoft Excel
